Korean MMA Fans, there was a big upset in the main event of ROAD FC 028! I’m talking about the ‘Stonecutter’ Jung Hwan Cha, who overcame adversity to defeat Japan’s MMA veteran, Riki Fukuda, by knockout in the 2nd round. After dealing with Fukuda’s wrestling and offensive style, Cha countered with a perfectly timed right hook that shut down his opponent.

The 31 year old, Korean welterweight fighter had the odds stacked against him. Fighting in a bigger weight-class and up against a world class fighter in Fukuda, Cha proved to the world that anyone has a puncher’s chance. The knockout win is even more impressive when considering the fact that the always durable Fukuda hasn’t been finished in 10 years.

With this victory, Jung Hwan Cha advances his record to 12 – 6 – 3. As the newly crowned ROAD FC middleweight champion, the ‘Stonecutter’ earned his spotlight with this performance. A reminder to all future opponents: it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog. Congratulations, to the new champ, Jung Hwan Cha!

  1. Totally agree, that fight with Nover was a snooze fest because of Nover.

He bleeds excitement, the ufc just missed out on one of the most toughest lightweight fighters.

Just look at his Legend FC fights, fucking massacres.
